OD SHOES Men's lightweight sailing shoes with technical grip

OD Shoes are one of the hero products of the One Design collection. The project was born from the intention to evolve a shoe already appreciated for performance and reliability, working in a targeted way on materials, comfort and support, without overturning its functional balance. The VIBRAM no-marking sole remains unchanged from the previous model: same compound, same rubber mix, the same high level of grip even on wet surfaces. A conscious choice, because deck traction is one of the most recognised and appreciated features of this shoe. The grip is engineered to deliver maximum hold without compromising durability, avoiding overly soft compounds that would wear out quickly. The main evolution concerns the upper, which has been completely redesigned. The fabric is an ultralight, high-tenacity technical mesh, extremely lightweight, breathable and very quick-drying. Even after immersion or washing, the shoe dries in a very short time, making it ideal for use on board or on a RIB. Despite the increased softness and flexibility of the material, lateral stability remains excellent, a key factor when sailing with the boat heeled. This result is achieved through an internal foot-holding structure, visible through the upper, designed to provide stability when the boat is heeled. It is integrated directly into the lacing system: when you tighten the laces, the structure itself works to keep the foot firmly in place without making the shoe rigid. Padding around the ankle collar and supportive foam at the heel enhance comfort and foot retention, while the gusseted tongue improves fit and helps prevent water and debris from entering. The interior is designed to keep the foot stable, with a new midsole featuring optimised density and a more supportive footbed in the heel area. In terms of fit, OD Shoes confirm one of the brand’s historic strengths: a comfortable shape with a slightly wider forefoot, ensuring stability, secure footing and comfort even for wider feet. A small internal bar limits lateral torsion, improving control without compromising sensitivity.
