At the core of the garment is the grid fleece fabric with DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatment. The particularly dense outer surface creates a first barrier against wind and light moisture, while the water-repellent finish further enhances protection. It is not a waterproof garment, but a fleece that protects, often allowing the wearer to avoid adding an extra layer. This is why it is frequently perceived as a true lightweight jacket. On the inside, the grid construction creates micro air channels that promote a more even distribution of heat and facilitate the release of excess moisture. Compared to a traditional compact fleece, grid fleece is lighter, less bulky and far more effective in thermoregulation, especially during medium-intensity activity.
