ALTURA BIB Waterproof bib for coastal sailing and winter racing

Altura Bib completes the Altura protection system and is designed for sailors who navigate regularly, from those competing in winter championships to those who live on board all year round. It replaces the previous Costal Bib and introduces a tangible evolution in terms of materials, construction and fit. The garment is made using a waterproof and breathable fabric with mechanical stretch, achieved through the fabric construction rather than the use of elastic fibres, allowing it to follow body movements while maintaining long-term stability and durability. Waterproof performance reaches 20,000 mm, while breathability goes up to 30,000 g/m²/24h, ensuring a well-balanced combination of protection from rain and wind and effective moisture management in typical winter sailing conditions. The PFC-free DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatment helps water bead off the surface, while the use of slightly higher denier yarns compared to the One Design range provides a greater sense of solidity and protection. The fabric’s mechanical stretch enhances freedom of movement and reduces fatigue during manoeuvres and long days on board. Adjustable elastic shoulder straps ensure a stable and comfortable fit, adapting easily to the layers worn underneath. Waist adjustment allows for further personalisation, while ankle adjustments enable a precise closure over boots or deck shoes. High-wear areas such as the knees and seat are reinforced to increase durability over time. A practical tool holder, suitable for items such as a Leatherman, is included for on-board use. Closures feature high-quality YKK zippers, reliable and designed for intensive use, ensuring long-lasting performance even in the marine environment. Altura Bib is intended to be worn frequently during winter sailing, delivering reliable protection and comfort without entering the realm of extreme ocean foul-weather gear.
