A sports and marine photographer, sailor, and visual storyteller, Martina has built her path in an environment often wary of those who — like her — choose to capture sailing from a different perspective. Her story is one of passion, freedom, and constant work: a blend of research, adaptation, and the curiosity that keeps her looking for new horizons.

Martina, a Gaze in Motion

Behind every image there’s a gaze — and in this project, that gaze is hers.

Martina doesn’t like to define herself in a single role: photographer, sailor, traveler, author. 'I consider myself a citizen of the world,' she says.

Her two lifelong passions — sailing and photography — have been intertwined since childhood. On board her family’s boat, she discovered the sea as a space of freedom and exploration; behind the camera, she found the most authentic way to tell her story and capture the world around her.

Sailing through a Woman’s Eyes

Being a woman in nautical photography has not been easy:

“Allusions, prejudice, underestimation. At first, they mortified me. Then I realised I just had to prove myself. My photos speak for me.”

Today, her signature style is instantly recognisable. Determination has become balance — a quiet strength that captures the essence of every story. Her photographs are known for their light, their naturalness, and their ability to portray the sea in its truest dimension.

Because every shot is a statement: “I am here, and I know where I’m going.”

Restless by Nature

Martina is restless — not out of unease, but out of a need to move, explore, and see things from new perspectives. From the open ocean to small dinghies, from regattas to artistic collaborations, she lives photography as a continuous story — a dialogue between sea, people, and light.
