There are places and events that capture sailing in one of its most fascinating forms. Porto Cervo in September is one of them. The docks fill with Maxi Yachts, crews arrive from around the world and, just outside the harbour, the breathtaking scenery of the Costa Smeralda and the La Maddalena Archipelago becomes the racecourse for some of the most advanced and spectacular yachts in international sailing.

From 6 to 12 September, Porto Cervo hosts the 36th Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, organised by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in collaboration with the International Maxi Association and with the support of Title Sponsor Rolex. More than 40 Maxi Yachts, all measuring at least 60 feet, come together in Porto Cervo for a week that combines technology, the pursuit of performance, organisation and an extraordinary culture of the sea.

The Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup brings together different sides of contemporary sailing, from the most advanced racers to performance cruisers and multihulls, with six taking part in the 2026 edition. This year, Porto Cervo will also award two World Championship titles in the Maxi 1 and Maxi Grand Prix classes.

For SLAM, September in Porto Cervo does not end with the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup. From 13 to 19 September, the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda will host the 23rd Rolex Swan Cup, the biennial event that takes on even greater significance in 2026, the year of Nautor Swan’s 60th anniversary.

An exceptional fleet will bring together different generations of yachts built by the renowned Finnish shipyard, returning some of the most beautiful and fascinating boats in Swan’s history and contemporary production to the waters of the Costa Smeralda.
