SLAM at the Genoa International Boat Show as Official Clothing Partner

For the first time since its acquisition by MSC, SLAM will be Official Clothing Partner of the Genoa International Boat Show, returning to the city where its story began. A special opportunity to meet the public and present the latest additions to the Autumn/Winter 2026/27 collection, from the Ocean Set and Altura range to the One Design garments and Foil Aero Set.

Some events have a special significance. For SLAM, the Genoa International Boat Show is certainly one of them.

Genoa is the city where SLAM was founded in 1979 and where its relationship with the sea continues to be part of the brand’s everyday life. This year, that connection becomes even stronger: for the first time since its acquisition by MSC, SLAM is Official Clothing Partner of the Genoa International Boat Show, providing the official clothing for the event staff.

This marks a new chapter in a collaboration that comes at an important time for SLAM, placing the brand at the heart of one of the key events on the international yachting calendar.

From the America’s Cup to SailGP, the sea as a testing ground

The Boat Show comes during a particularly busy season for SLAM. Sailing remains at the heart of product development and the brand’s major international partnerships.

SLAM is Official Technical Supplier to Emirates Team New Zealand, Defender of the 38th America’s Cup, and technical partner of the Explora Journeys Swiss SailGP Team. These experiences are complemented by the collaboration with Sébastien Simon and Team Dubreuil in the world of ocean racing.

These are very different environments, from the speed of the AC40s and F50s to long-distance ocean racing, allowing SLAM to work closely with those who use technical clothing in the very conditions for which it was designed. Materials and solutions are put to the test at sea, providing valuable feedback that can then be applied to the development of new products and the evolution of existing ones.

New SLAM products to discover in Genoa

The Boat Show will also provide an opportunity to see some of the key new additions to the Autumn/Winter 2026/27 collection up close, with products designed for very different ways of experiencing sailing, from offshore and coastal sailing to One Design racing and foiling disciplines.

Designed for offshore sailing in demanding conditions, the new Ocean Set comprises the Ocean Jacket and Ocean Bib, the new top-of-the-range offering in SLAM’s technical collection, created to provide protection during extended periods at sea.

With the Altura Jacket and Altura Bib, the focus shifts to coastal sailing, racing and extended use on board. A versatile solution that further expands SLAM’s range of foul-weather gear.

The One Design world brings a different set of demands. The OD Hooded Jacket, OD Spray Top and OD Long Johnhave been designed for dynamic, performance-focused sailing, where protection, lightness and freedom of movement need to support sailors through constant changes of position and manoeuvres on board.

From the Olympics to SailGP and the America’s Cup

Among the most innovative projects visitors will be able to discover in Genoa is the Foil Aero Set, developed through SLAM’s research work with Ruggero Tita and Caterina Banti, Olympic and Nacra 17 World Champions.

Comprising the Foil Aero Top and Foil Aero Bib, the set was created to meet the specific demands of high-speed sailing. Its ribbed aerodynamic surface was tested in a wind tunnel to help reduce turbulence, while the compressive construction is designed to keep the fabric stable against the body even when wet.

It is one of the clearest examples of the process connecting the racecourse with product development: understanding the new demands of sailing, working directly with athletes and turning experience gained on the water into new technical solutions.
