Luigi grew up in the world of dinghies, eventually making the leap into the Switch class. A natural step, this shift was driven by a desire to delve into something new: a light, fast, reactive, but also challenging boat. "It caught my attention straight away," he says, "but it forces you to stay calm and know how to read the boat: it's not just about pushing, you need a head on your shoulders."

And that sweet spot between instinct and rationality is exactly what emerges from his story: a passion for flying over the waves, the challenge of keeping control, the knowledge that every mistake can cost you the race. Every board is an opportunity to learn, every jibe a test.

In the 2025 season, Luigi has participated consistently in the national Switch circuit, tackling technical races and variable wind conditions, never losing sight of the objective: to improve. "The Switch, and foiling in general, is always putting you to the test," he says, "but that's also what makes it so rewarding: if you understand it, the Switch makes you experience some incredible emotions."
