Slam supports Andrea Fantini Racing’s sporting and human adventure
The Transat Jacques Vabre, the prestigious transatlantic two-handed regatta that follows the ancient coffee trading routes from Normandy to Salvador de Bahia, will kick off on November 5 2017 in Le Havre, covering a total of 4,350 nautical miles. The 76 skippers from 9 different countries include the all-Italian team of Andrea Fantini and Alberto Bona aboard the Enel Green Power – Class 40.

For Andrea Fantini, born in 1982 in Ferrara, this will be the second time: in 2011, with Tommaso Stella, he was the only Italian in the race. After years of experience and working behind the scenes, Andrea is back with a new team and new ambitions. In effect, the Transat Jacques Vabre is only one fundamental step in a sporting and human project that includes the Route du Rhum in 2018 followed by the Vendée Globe, the Everest of the seas: a single-handed, non-stop race around the world without assistance.
