A new direction and new horizons for Slam. Passion, performance and change: these are the keywords of the Slam’s news, presented at Pitti Immagine 91. Slam comes back to the very centre of Florence’s menswear fashion to present a collection designed for the lovers of the sea, the wind and sailing and its new brand identity.

Thirty-eight years on from the launch of the first waxed jacket, Slam has reinvented itself, with the same intuitive, dynamic, innovative attitude that has been the hallmark of the brand since its foundation. First and foremost, this change is reflected in the logo, which combines the name Slam - with a new graphic style, with the Spin symbol, a surprising composition formed by two squares that represent the movement of the wind. The new brand identity is thus a reflection of the culture of the sea and sailing, as well as of the importance of technology and innovation.

Brand-new manufacturing processes, innovative materials, dynamic shapes and ergonomic styles: these are just some of the new features of Slam’s new autumn-winter 2017-18 technical collection. Racing Waxed Jacked stands out for its stretch fabric and high performance features and so does Long John high-performance waxed salopettes that are both extra-light and extremely resistant.

The keywords for tackling the sea, and for days both on a boat and on land: performance, determination, passion and innovation. The new SLAM collection embodies all these concepts to perfection.

BeLeave offers a modern take on iconic items from the nautical tradition, such as Pea Coats, Duffle Coats and Sailor Jackets. The models are light, breathable, waterproof and windproof. Manufacturing processes use natural fibres and fabrics such as wool. The outerwear items, 100% Made in Italy, are made from Scuba Wool, a 3-layer (wool/acrylic/polyester) technical fabric created using 100% Italian patented technology. There is also a major focus on underwear, first-layer jerseys and trousers able to offer heat insulation and antibacterial properties thanks to the NILIT® HEAT  and NILIT® BREEZE technology
