LED – Lanterna E DINTORNI – SLAM LIGHTS UP THE Lighthouse of genoa
On 14 March 2017, Slam will be joining forces with the Municipal Council of Genova and the Fondazione Mario e Giorgio Labò to officially celebrate their involvement in the project INSIEME PER LA LANTERNA (TOGETHER FOR THE LIGHTHOUSE), dedicated to the city of Genova and the cultural heritage that for almost a thousand years has shaped the identity of the Liguria region. The event is scheduled for 8.00 p.m. in the Auditorium della Lanterna (Auditorium of the Lighthouse), featuring a presentation of the project to restore the Lighthouse and the switching on of the new LED lighting. From 9.00 p.m., the switching-on ceremony will be streamed live on the Slam Facebook page (www.facebook.com/slamsailing), as well as shown on the large screen of Palazzo Ducale in Genova, for those in the city.
A PASSION FOR THE SEA AND SAILING
The event will be accompanied by the photographic exhibition NELLE MIE VENE SCORRE IL MARE (THE SEA RUNNING THROUGH MY VEINS) held in the Sala dei Fucilieri exhibition hall. The pictures taken throughout the 20-year collaboration between Slam and the photographer Giovanni Desandre feature some marvellous moments from our archives, and all visitors will receive a keyring with the ancient name of the city, Ianua, Latin for gate: Europe’s gateway to the Mediterranean.
