BARCOLANA49
The thrilling view of thousands of boats across the Gulf of Trieste each year is a truly memorable experience. In 2016, over three hundred thousand people gathered together to watch the event, a mark of the extraordinary reputation that Barcolana has built up over almost half a century.

In Trieste, Barcolana is committed to drawing up a rich programme of on-land activities, filled with exciting contests and cultural appointments, running in parallel with the sea-based events and designed to promote the city’s heritage and maritime tradition. The values of this seafaring town are strongly shared by Slam. And for the 49th edition of the regatta, Slam will be present alongside Furio Benussi (winner of the 48th event) and with the official stand at the Barcolana village, in the lagoon of San Giusto. The stand, complete with Press Point, lounge, and panoramic terrace, will guarantee a wonderful view of the courses.
The 49 th edition of the sailing race with the most entries in the world is about to begin. Trieste has prepared an elaborate programme of races and cultural events to welcome participants and visitors.
The Barcolana collection is available online, in Slam flagship stores, and from selected retailers in the provinces of Trieste, Gorizia and Udine.
In the Barcolana village, visitors will be able to buy the official polo shirt of Barcolana 49: in white cotton piquet with a blue collar and contrast stitching, these will be available for purchase at the various Slam stands throughout the shopping area.
But that’s not all: Slam has also created a collection inspired by the popular regatta and the traditional colours of the nautical world – navy blue, white and red.
T-shirts, polo shirts, water-repellent hats and bags are all part of the collection, as well as outerwear: Primaloft® padded jackets, and lightweight softshell jackets such as the Blow Jacket, an ultra-light, breathable and waterproof solution. Or the Harbour Jacket: water-repellent and wind-resistant but, above all, so light that it can be folded up and easily kept in a pocket.
